In a recent ceremony attended by the Mayoress of Manilva, Antonia Muñoz, and Rogerio Koehn, representating Aquagest, along with a number of councillors, the document was finally signed contracting Aquagest to provide water and sewerage services for the next 15 years.
Apart from a number of improvements to the service, including the provision of Manilva's own drain and sewer cleaning vehicle, and the opening of public offices in both Manilva and Sabinillas, the main consequence is the 5 million euro payment to the municipal coffers by the company.
According to the Mayoress this payment will secure the town workers wages for the coming months as well as go to paying the numerous local suppliers and businesses owed money by the council.
