Estepona's Town Council at a full council meeting held on Tuesday, 10th November, unanimously approved the proposal to reduce the council tax (IBI) for next year, 2010 from 0.85% down to 0.7% of the property's rateable value (Valor Catastral).
This move is designed to counter the increased cost to taxpayers as a result of the 2007 revision of the valores catastrales which saw a large increase in the rateable value of properties in the Estepona municipality.
This reduction will help relieve the financial burden on the property owners whilst having a negligible impact on the municipal coffers. The Town Hall raised 25 million euros from IBI payments in 2008, and it is forecast that this move would see a reduction of just 88,000 euros for the year 2010, according to the Councillor for Finance, Francisca Bernal, who went on to confirm that the Town Council will maintain the subsidy for those property owners registered on the Padron. |

Estepona's Foreign Residents Association, AREME, will be holding its annual general meeting on Monday, 26th April at 11 for 11.30 am. The meeting will be held in the Salon de Prensa on the first floor of the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre in Estepona.

Amigos de la Música celebrate Andalucía Day

The ASABAM music association, with the help of ACEMCE, The Resident newspaper and various friends of the Municipality invite you to join them in celebrating Andalucía’s annual festival at the Lola's Showbar, in Plaza Ginebra, San Luís de Sabinillas, with the “Amigos de la Música” Choir.
Along with the Himno de Andalucía (Andalucía Anthem) they will perform a varied choral repertoire.

Everyone joined in the fun as the Estepona/Sotogrande Chapter of The American Club Costa Del Sol enjoyed American Halloween - Hollywood Style. Some 50 Members came in fancy dress as Hollywood Stars of Past & Present. The venue was filled to capacity by Members & Guests who came from near and far to enjoy welcoming cava, glamorous "Hollywood" company, delicous food, & Alberto's music that kept us dancing through the night.
