Casares hosts the XVIII Spanish Cross Country Championship for the Mentally Disabled

Casares plays host to the XVIII Spanish Cross Country Championship for the Mentally Disabled tomorrow, Saturday 6th February, from 11 am.

Some 128 competitors and club staff from 27 sporting clubs from Andalucía, Aragón, Cataluña, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, Navarra, País Vasco and Valencia, will take part on the circuit laid out next to the Municipal Football Ground in Casares.
The 128 runners, both male and female of varying degrees of disibility will compete in 5 categories:
11 am. 1000m Mixed ability.
11.45 am. 2000m Women's Adapted category
11.45 am. 3000m Men's Adapted category.
12.20 pm. 3000m Women
12.45 pm. 5000m Men
The event is organised by the Casares Town Hall in collaboration with the Union of Western Costa del Sol Municipalities, the Malaga Provincial Council, Sports Council, Spanish Paralympic Committee, ONCE, ASISA, and the Spanish Federation for Sports for the Mentally Disabled.

Everyone joined in the fun as the Estepona/Sotogrande Chapter of The American Club Costa Del Sol enjoyed American Halloween - Hollywood Style. Some 50 Members came in fancy dress as Hollywood Stars of Past & Present.  The venue was filled to capacity by Members & Guests who came from near and far to enjoy welcoming cava, glamorous "Hollywood" company, delicous food, & Alberto's music that kept us dancing through the night.
